Brexit Highlights 16-30 April 2021

– The European Parliament approved EU-UK trade and cooperation agreement and the Council adopted a decision on the conclusion of the EU-UK trade and cooperation agreement and the security of information agreement. Both agreements fully entered into force on May 1.

– The European Scrutiny Committee (House of Commons) published a new report – Northern Ireland Protocol: Withdrawal Agreement Joint Committee Decisions and declarations of 17 December 2020

– A new European Affairs Committee and Sub-Committee on the Protocol on Ireland/Northern Ireland was established. The Sub-Committee has announced an inquiry into the operation of the Protocol on Ireland/Northern Ireland.

– The International Trade Committee (House of Commons) published a new report – UK freeports

– The Research and Information service (Northern Ireland Assembly) published a new briefing paper – Internal Market Act 2020 and the Protocol on Ireland/Northern Ireland & Brexit Brief
