Brexit Highlights 7 – 13 October 2019

– The Outer House of the Court of Session rejected to order Prime Minister Boris Johnson to seek extension if a deal is not passed by the Commons. The case ([2019] CSOH 77) can be found here.

– The UK Government published a 150-page document outlining its Brexit readiness – No-Deal Readiness Report

– The European Union Committee (House of Lords)produced a new report – Brexit: refugee protection and asylum policy

– Various UK Government sets of no-deal guidance were updated – Exporting active substances for medicines after Brexit; Importing medicines from the EEA after Brexit; List of approved countries for authorised human medicines if there is a no-deal Brexit; Guidance on air freight of medicines in a no-deal Brexit; Guidance on importation of investigational medicinal products from approved countries in a no-deal Brexit; Exceptions and modifications to the EU guidance on good pharmacovigilance practices that will apply in a no-deal Brexit; Webinars: preparing to make submissions to the MHRA after Brexit; Guidance on pharmacovigilance procedures in the event of a no-deal Brexit; MHRA consultation on EU exit no-deal legislative proposals; Temporary import tariff rates and quotas after no-deal Brexit; Statutory Instruments relating to Brexit; Importing investigational medicinal products from approved countries after Brexit; EU exit, universities, research and innovation: stakeholder working group; International agreements if the UK leaves the EU without a deal

– The HM Revenue & Customs department published the third edition of its impact assessment – HMRC impact assessment for the movement of goods if the UK leaves the EU without a deal       

– The Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs published new promotional material – Livestock and poultry importers: steps to import livestock and poultry from the EU to the UK
